The International Forum in Essen, from 3 – 8 December 2013, will bring together over 150 participants from all over Europe to discuss topics revolving around the European energy policy. The forum is the third and final session under the common theme “Young Energy for Europe”. For the first time in the history of the EYP we have set ourselves the high aim to integrate the ideas and solutions of two previous sessions into the discussions and proposals of Essen and thereby come up with a final resolution for this series of sessions.

Essen, the European Capital of Culture in 2010, will be the ideal location to host  debates. A city in which both 20th century industrialism and a very old cultural heritage are uniquely intertwined will provide the perfect setting to discuss the European energy policy, one of the most original thoughts in the process of establishing the EU.

The combination of academic professionalism and culturally diversified perspectives will be brought together in the EnergyNexus. On the second day of CommitteeWork the floor will be opened to the delegates from The Hague and Istanbul, who already once discussed the session topics under the common theme “Young Energy for Europe”. Besides discussing the presented resolutions all delegates will have the chance to talk to experts on the field of their topic, granting them deeper insight into the facets and also a broader overview over the general impact of the current political issues they are dealing with.

The session is head-organized by Sebastian “Schnue” Rieger (sebastian.rieger@eyp.de)
